Speaking about sustainable consumption at Swedish with Baby

IMG_7269.jpg

Swedish with Baby (Svenska med baby) is an organisation that believes in an open society where parents, and their children, with different backgrounds can meet to feel included and welcomed. I got invited to host a seminar about sustainable consumption for these parents.

It was a good experience for me to discuss these important issues for an audience still learning Swedish. We also had a very good discussion about what sustainable consumption mean, especially as a parent. I emphasised the importance of reducing consumption in general and not get stucked in labels or materials. Sustainability should be a practice available for anyone, that’s why it’s better to focus on what you can do. Several parents also brought up the topic of what really is important to buy for your children and to navigate for yourself instead of listening to commercials.

From Stockholm to Hong Kong by train - interviewed by Evolution Show on YouTube

In the summer of 2019, me and my partner went all they way from Stockholm to Hong Kong by train. We traveled through Russia, Mongolia and China by the famous Trans-Siberian train. In China we took the fast pullet train and visited some of the most extraordinary places you don’t want to miss such as the Chinese wall, Terracotta army and the Li river.

In this interview by Johan Landgren on Evolution Show I’ll share with you some of my best tips for doing a long trip like that. What you have to think about when going to China by train and other insights I’ve learned after several trips without flying.

Zero Mission is a consulting firm on reduced and positive climate impact for businesses and organisations. I spoke about the work I’ve been responsible for at the Swedish Red Cross. Interviewed by Reform Travel - about going from Stockholm to Hong Kong by train

DSC_0048.jpg

One of my favourite blogs and source of inspiration is Reform Travel! This platform takes an holistic approach on sustainable traveling and I love the content, the reflections and the discussions. Sustainable traveling for me is not only about cutting carbon emissions, it’s so much more. The tourism industry employees 13 million only within the European Union. 319 million people globally! So we need to consider all the global goals when discussing sustainable traveling.

But for those who wish you stop flying, that doesn’t mean you have to stop traveling long distances. In this interview we share our tips and recommendation for the Trans-Sibirian railway among other things.

I’m mostly talking about my master thesis where I compared different ways to measure welfare.
